photopo-2I wanted to try something really unique and special this year for Thanksgiving.

I was so inspired but this florist here in LA called Marks Garden and how they put their arrangements together… They are always exquisite yet a bit contemporary as well and I love that.

I started out with 3 different sized cake stands at different heights. Assuming most of you don’t have 3, 1 works well too. If you don’t have a cake stand you can make your arrangement on the table with the baskets we will be using or if you want the different heights you can get creative… turn bowls upside down, a hat box, whatever you want.

I incorporated Red Cabbage, Artichokes and Kohlrabi.

photo-1-4I started with 3 small baskets, I had them lying around but they were a couple dollars each when I bought them and spray painted them gold. This looks nice but you don’t have to paint them. I filled them with floral foam . Next I cut the top from my cabbage and gutted them leaving room to put my floral foam in.

After that I placed my Artichokes and Kohlrabi around the baskets on my cake stands.

photo-2-2I started filling my floral foam with my fillers: Euphorbia (green with white), Safari Sunset (tall red/green) and Dianthus (green balls) these all live a long time btw.

Next I added in my beautiful flowers! I used Peonies (pink ball looking flowers) Gypsy Dianthus (tiny fuchsia)  and Dahlia’s (burgundy)

Super easy and this arrangement really makes the table! I love it!
