1. Use conditioner even when you skip shampooing. Your hair is contstantly exposed to the harsh weather, coloring and styling. Using conditioner more frequently helps give your hair protection from it being dried out and damaged. If your hair is on the dry side you can substitute shampoo for conditioner once or twice a week.

2. Pick your conditioner based on your texture. Having flat or heavy hair after conditioning is from using the wrong product for your hair type.

If you have:

Fine Strands – Volumizing Conditioner

Thick Hair – Deep Conditioner that contain fatty acids, like almond, coconut and jojoba oils.

Curly Hair – Ultra Mosturizing. Natural mosturizers can’t travel as easily down the strands as straight hair.

*No matter what your texture is if you color regularly you need a protien enhanced conditioner made specially for color treated hair.

3. Conditioning Masks. Sometimes you just need a little extra moisture and you want to get your hair feeling extra healthy. Look for ingredients in your mask like keratin and amino acids. Hot oil treatment help boost hydration too. Wet a towel until damp and heat it in the microwave until warm. Apply your mask and your hair in towel turban style. Leave in for 20-30 minutes.

4. Skip Your Roots. If you love having volume in your hair and you find that your roots get oily quickly avoid your roots when conditioning.
