A lot of things can be done before the actual day you are planning an event or a meal. The more prepared you are for entertaining the less stressful it is.

Step 1. Plan Your Menu

This is very important. You need to make sure you have a well balanced meal planned out. Next make sure you can actually get all of the ingredients that you need. How much time will you have to cook? This will really effect your choices.

Step 2. Pre Cook

Anything that you can make before your meal will help you a lot. When there is a lot of cooking to be done, the more you can get off your plate before the day of the better. Cooking is fun and relaxing but not when you are rushed and trying to juggle 10 things at once, so eliminate the stress and pre-make as much as possible.

If you are using food to garnish it’s to helpful get it ready before you begin cooking, especially if you’re dealing with food that should be served warm you don’t want to waste time preparing your garnishes while the food gets cold.

Try to get your ingredients measured out, cut up and prepared the day before. You can put them in plastic containers in the fridge to store until you’re ready.

This will save you a huge amount of time the day of.

Setting the table is always a bit time consuming. If you want to enjoy yourself and be creative while doing it than I suggest setting it, getting any flower arrangements, place cards, etc. ready the day before.

Now you can use that extra time to get your meal perfect and have extra time to primp and look fabulous!
