beauty-looks-nude-lipsNude Lips. I love the nude lip this season because it looks great on everyone, it’s a quick and easy look to pull off and you can wear it with a smokey eye for night or with a little bit of shadow and mascara during the day for a flawless fashion forward look. I’m always a big advocate of a makeup look that can take you from the workplace to a night on the town with only some slight additions for instance, some eyeliner and a little bronzer to give you a stunning look for night without heading home first to redo your entire face. Who has the time for that?

I’ve been seeing a lot of the nude lip recently from J-Lo to Zoe Saldana on red carpets. This look is like the beauty equivalent to your favorite skinny jeans! It’s easy to pull off and you can dress it up or down. The goal here with the nude lip is to tone down the natural pigment in your lips leaving you with a hint of color. It gives you a warm look while bringing more attention to those beautiful cheeks and eyes. This is a good opportunity to play around with bold shades too without running the risk of too many different colors going on making you feel overdone or like a clown.

A few key tips when selecting the perfect nude shade for you: Always consider your natural lip shade. Peach tones generally look great on fair complexions. Caramel tones look fierce on medium complexions and golden browns look killer on darker complexions.

Try out nudes with a bit of sheen or gloss to them. Matt nudes can look amazing on the runway but can be a bit tricky to pull off in real life.

Before you apply a nude be sure to dab your lips with concealer that blends into your skin tone. This will make the true hue of the lipstick you’re applying pop out and be the exact shade you see in the tube.
