A Paddle Brush. Goody Finish Paddle Brush $3.16

Great for brushing curls out into soft waves.

1. The best way to start off is to wash your hair using a volumizing shampoo and conditioner.  Then blow it out. A good trick to help get volume is to start by turning your head over and blowing from underneath. If you’re going for a voluminous look add in some mouse to your damp hair. If you’re going for a super sleek look use an anti frizz cream. Then blow dry using a round brush. Pulling the hair around the crown up and out creating volume.

2. To create lots of lift and bounce apply the root lifter to dry hair, blow dry it and then using your fine toothed comb tease as needed depending on the style you’re going to. After you get you’re desired amount of volume it’s time to either use a flat iron for a sleek look or a large barrel curling iron for big bouncy waves.

3. If you want to do an up-do I recommend using a curling iron followed by a flat brush giving you big waves before putting it into place. Head bands are a fun way to dress up this look. Lately J.Lo has been doing the half up half down look, all you need for this is an elastic. You can even do up do’s using nothing but bobby pins. A great way to do a mod ponytail is to wrap a strand of hair around your elastic or in Reese Witherspoon’s case use clear elastic. What so fab about all of these gorgeous hairdos is there are so many different styles that can be done only using your comb, bobby pins and clear elastic. These timeless looks are limitless but they’re all super easy and fun to do and will have you turning heads this season without having to visit the salon.
