pecanpieIt’s that time of year! Finally Thanksgiving is right around the corner. With the biggest meal and family get together of the year only 4 days away I’m sure you have your menu all set, but if you really want to try something special and blow your guests away with your culinary skills then you’re going to love this easy and delicious Pecan Pie recipe. It’s simple to make and will add an extra touch of wow to your turkey day feast!

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell

3 eggs

3/4 c dark corn syrup

2/3 c firmly packed dark brown sugar

1/4 c unsulfured light molasses

1/4 c unsalted butter and slightly cooled

1 tbsp Kahlua or other coffee-flavored liqueur

1/4 tsp salt

2 c coarsely chopped pecans

whipped cream (optional)

 

1. Position a rack in the lower third of the oven and preheat to 350.

2. In a large bowl whisk the eggs.

3. Add in the corn syrup, brown sugar, molasses, butter, liqueur and salt and whisk until the mixture is smooth.

4. Scatter the pecans evenly in the pie shell.

5. Scatter the mixture over the pecans.

6. Place the pie in the oven and bake until the top is browned and the filling is evenly but not firmly set. (About 40-50 minutes)

7. Remove the pie from the oven. Let cool completely before cutting. To serve cut into wedges and top with whipped cream if desired.
