shirt1February is here with my favorite holiday a mere 14 days away!

That’s only two weeks ladies.

I have lots and lots of fun DIY tips up my sleeves for you coming up but first, I want to kick off the month with a bang by putting a fun DIY spin on Valentines Day fashion.

Have you ever seen or heard of the mens sport coats with leather (usually suede) patches on the elbows?

Well I saw one the other day and thought how cute it would be to incorporate this style into a girly and festive VDAY shirt or sweater to for us ladies to rock this month and also makes a cute gift for your daughter, mom or girlfriends!

shirt4This project is as easy at 1-2-3, takes less than 10 minutes to do and less than $5.
1. Start by buy a pretty silk or satin fabric. I chose pink. Buy a quarter yard. I found a gorgeous pink silk at Joanns Fabrics for a few dollars.

2. Fold the fabric in half and using a marker stencil half of two hearts starting at the fold. Cut out.

shirt63. Try on your shirt or sweater, this cute striped one featured here was $10 at Forever21. Mark where the fabric hits your elbow with a sewing push pin. Next, take off the shirt and pin  the hearts in place where your elbow should be. Last but not least, using a coordinating thread and sewing needle hand sew the hearts into place. You can also use a machine.

Super simple, super fun to do and the best part… SUPER, SUPER CUTE!
