Do you ever wonder how celebrities have the perfect bun with a braid around it on the red carpet?
They must have a lot of hair right? Wrong!
This is how you do it!
You will need: fake hair, bobby pins, 2 small rubber bands and a comb.
1. Start with a long piece of fake hair as close to your natural color as possible. Sally’s beauty has these as well as professional make up and hair stores, I’m sure you can also find them online.
This is synthetic hair so make sure you don’t apply any heat to it or it will melt. You can also use real hair although it’s not necessary and is way more expensive, this hair cost $10.
2. Folding it halfway clip it to something to hold it in place so you can braid it, you can also put it around your toes, sounds crazy I know but it works great.
Braid the entire braid.
3. Secure the braid with a rubber band.
4. Put your hair in a pony tail with a rubber band, if you want a high bun do a high ponytail. If you want a lower one like the picture of Penelope Cruz above then make a low ponytail.
5. Wrap the hair around the rubber band in a circle fastening it down with bobby pins making a bun. Make sure it is smooth.
6. Wrap your braid around the bun starting with the top of the braid at the bottom center of the bun, as you wrap secure the braid down with bobby pins. When you get to the end of the braid tuck the rubber band underneath securing with bobby pins and it’s that easy! You’re done!
