paltrow-vagina-steams-101Yesterday I was so excited to check out The Tikkun Holistic Spa in Santa Monica. This spa has been getting a lot of attention and raising eyebrows since Gwyneth Paltrow raved in full detail about the V-Steam she had done on her lady parts. It may have been a little too much information for most peoples taste but I couldn’t wait to check it out and see what all the buzz was about. Almost every weekly I’ve opened in the last week keeps mentioning this spa.

The V-Steam was an experience, that’s for sure but I won’t go into the details, you can use your imagination. Afterwards, I had a Korean Body Scrub that blew my mind. Last week I had gotten a spray tan and as much as I tried to exfoliate with a scrub and a washcloth in the shower my skin still was looking patchy and uneven. You know how that goes. After my treatment I looked down and could not believe how much dead skin was on me. Yuck! You don’t realize how much dry skin you have going on until you physically see it on the ground. It’s a little disturbing, kind of like when you put your eyebrows under a magnified beauty mirror and realize you’ve been walking around with a una-brow and you had no idea!

Not only was this treatment super relaxing but my whole body felt like silk and was glowing afterwards. I got some of the secret tips and ingredients in the scrub  and I want to share this easy recipe and the simple steps you with you so you can recreate it at home!

screen-shot-2015-02-19-at-5-00-30-pmAll you need is a pair of exfoliating gloves available at Forever 21 for $1

1 ½ c of sea salt

½ c olive oil

½ c baby oil

2 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp cornstarch

Mix all of the ingredients together. Hop in the shower without the water on. Apply this magic mixture with the exfoliating gloves using a medium amount of pressure. Massage the scrub all over your body staying away from your face. (It’s a great body scrub but a little too aggressive for the delicate skin on your face.) Continue to massage into your skin for 10 minutes paying special attention to your feet, your hands, elbows and knees. Rinse off with warm water. Dry off and enjoy your silky smooth and beautiful glow using ingredients from your kitchen without breaking the bank!
